I am a microbial ecologist interested in insect-microbe symbioses, especially mutualistic symbioses that involve ants, bacteria, and fungi. Specifically, I want to know how microbes mediate host responses to environmental changes and pressures to better understand the roles of microbes in animals generally. Outside of lab, I enjoy reading sci-fi, fantasy, and romance novels, hiking, biking, watching TV, and eating good food.
